Keyboard shortcuts in Albert are here to make your daily work easier. Whether you're jotting down observations or switching between fields, using just a few key commands can speed things up and make the whole experience feel smoother.

General Shortcuts (Work Across All Modules)

Example

Undo

Ctrl + Z (Windows) Cmd + Z (Mac)

Go back one step if you made a mistake.

You deleted a formula by accident? Press this to bring it back.

Redo

Ctrl + Y or CTRL + Shift + Z/ (Cmd + Shift + Z)

Redo something you undid.

You hit Undo by mistake? This brings it back again.

Copy

Ctrl + C / Cmd + C

Copies the selected text or item.

Copy a product name to use elsewhere.

Paste

Ctrl + V / Cmd + V

Pastes the copied item.

Paste the product name into a new form.

Cut

Ctrl + X / Cmd + X

Removes and copies at the same time.

Cut a number from one cell to move it somewhere else.

Select All

Ctrl+A/Cmd+A

Quickly highlights all text or data in a field, note, or cell to copy.

Selects all the text.

Save

Ctrl+S/Cmd+S

Save (when manual save is available)

Save progress in longer entries.

Below are all the keyboard shortcuts and quick commands you can use to work faster.

Text Formatting Shortcuts:

Bold Text

Makes selected text bold.

Turn “Important” into Important

Italic Text

Ctrl + I / Cmd + I

Makes selected text slanted.

Turn “note” into note

Underline Text

Ctrl + U / Cmd + U

Adds underline to selected text.

Turn “final result” into final result

 

Block Creation Commands:

Open Block Menu

/ (type forward slash)

Brings up the block options (like text, table, image, etc.)

Type / to insert a file, image, chemical drawing, or table

New Block / Paragraph

Press Enter

Adds a new block line in your Notebook.

Press Enter to start a new paragraph or block

 

Search Shortcuts

Search Within a Notebook

Ctrl + F / Cmd + F

Find words or phrases inside a specific Notebook.

Search Across Project Notebooks

Use the Notebook Search Bar

At the top of the Project page, search by name, @mention, task, or keyword. When a project has multiple Notebooks associated with it, you can easily search for the desired Notebook by name in the search toolbar

 

Mentions and Collaboration

Notifies them and links their item inside the Notebook
