Creating and Editing Tasks

Albert allows for seamless delegation and management of work through Tasks. Tasks allow you to manage and track your daily work and collaborate with colleagues. When a Task is created, it is always assigned to an Albert location and can be found in the Tasks module.

Creating Tasks

To create a new Batch Task, Property Task, or General Task, click on "Create" in the Albert navigation panel at the top of the screen and select "Task". Click on the desired Task type and fill out the required information.

Creating Property Tasks

When creating a Property Task, you will be prompted to create a Task Name and associate an Albert ID, Location, and Priority with the Task. You will also be given the option to select an Assignee for the Task, fill out any Tags, and add any notes. You will be required to select the Data Templates that will make up the configuration of the Results (data columns) within your Task, and will be given the option to add Parameter Groups or Smart Parameter Groups to your Task. The Data Templates and Parameter Groups will be linked together as blocks, and up to ten blocks can be added for any one Task.

Task Statuses

Task statuses are designed to allow you to have visibility and tracking of your and others' Tasks across your organization. There are 5 statuses by which Tasks can be labelled:

  1. Unclaimed
  2. Not Started
  3. In Progress
  4. Completed
  5. Closed

Note: When you move a Task into the Closed state, the Task becomes uneditable.

Changing the Status of a Task

There are several ways to change the status of a single Task:

  1. Navigate to the actual Task and open it. From within the Task, you can update the status to any other status.
  2. Navigate to the Task module and change the status dropdown option for the desired Task(s) to your desired status.

Tip: Changing Task statuses directly from the Task module allows you to quickly change the status of multiple Tasks as desired.

Changing the Status of Multiple Tasks at Once

To change the status of Tasks in bulk:

  1. Navigate to the Project Home page
  2. Select the check boxes against the Tasks for which you need to change the status
  3. Once tasks are selected, the header bar gets activated, and you can select the desired status from the Status dropdown.
  4. Click on Confirm on the right side of the screen, which will change the status of all selected Tasks to the status you identified
