Albert allows for seamless delegation and management of work through Tasks. Tasks allow you to manage and track your daily work and collaborate with colleagues. When a Task is created, it is always assigned to an Albert location and can be found in the Tasks module.
Creating Tasks
To create a new Batch Task, Property Task, or General Task, click on "Create" in the Albert navigation panel at the top of the screen and select "Task". Click on the desired Task type and fill out the required information.
Creating Property Tasks
When creating a Property Task, you will be prompted to create a Task Name and associate an Albert ID, Location, and Priority with the Task. You will also be given the option to select an Assignee for the Task, fill out any Tags, and add any notes. You will be required to select the Data Template that will make up the configuration of the Results (data columns) within your Task, and will be given the option to add Parameter Groups to your Task.
Creating Batch Tasks
When creating a Batch Task, you will be prompted to create a Task Name and associate an Albert ID, Location, Quantity (g or kg), and Priority with the Task. You will also be given the option to select an Assignee for the Task, fill out any Tags, add any notes, and add Parameter Groups to your Task.
Creating General Tasks
When creating a General Task, you will be prompted to create a Task Name and associate a Location with the Task. You will also be given the option to select an Assignee for the Task, fill out any Tags, add any notes, and associate a Project ID with the Task.
Editing Tasks
Task details can be edited after creation of the Task by navigating to the Task's page. From there, Task details such as the Due Date can be edited within the leftmost panel on the screen as shown below. Changes made will be automatically saved.
You can also edit the Parameter Group configuration for your Batch or Property Task by opening the Task's page, navigating to the Parameter Group section, and clicking "Edit".
You can edit or add Notes or Attachments under the Task's Notes section.
Task Statuses
Task statuses are designed to allow you to have visibility and tracking of your and others' Tasks across your organization. There are 5 statuses by which Tasks can be labelled:
- Unclaimed
- Not Started
- In Progress
- Completed
- Closed
Note: When you move a Task into the Closed state, the Task becomes uneditable.
Changing the Status of a Task
There are two ways to change the status of a Task:
- Navigate to the actual Task and open it. From within the Task, you can update the status to any other status.
- Navigate to the Task module and change the status dropdown option for the desired Task(s) to your desired status.
Tip: Changing Task statuses directly from the Task module allows you to quickly change the status of multiple Tasks as desired.
